National Specialty Show
April, 2009

Our Kuvasz National Specialty Show was judged by Ms. Pat Hastings. Double Ring Shokufeye Zibayenum ( Ziba ) won a major under Ms. Hastings and went on to win another major later in the weekend under Judge Charlotte McGowan. Ziba goes back home to Pennsylvania on the 10th. I’m sure they will be glad to get her back with both of her majors behind her.

Also on the specialty weekend, our Holland import, Cezár Harcos v.d. Viersenhoeve, was RWD one day and WD for a major under Judge Charlotte McGowan.

Champion Double Ring Tarees Dream Dancer (Zury) was Best of Opposite Sex under Judge Michelle Billings during the Specialty Show weekend. Zury was shown by 16 year-old Ashley Resener. Way to go Ashley and Zury!!! There were many nice compliments about Zury from other exhibitors and observing judges.

March 14, 2009 in Louisville, KY

NEW CHAMPION Double Ring Tarees Dream Dancer (Zury) won a 4 point major to finish her championship under Judge Evie Sullivan. Zury's sister, Double Ring De Shokufeye Zibayenum (Ziba) owned by Tanya & Rahmat Keyhani, was Reserve Winners Bitch her first time in the ring with us!

Our new Champion, Champion Double Ring Tarees Dream Machine ( Diesel ) won back-to-back, 5-point majors recently. Diesel went Best of Winners on Friday at the Dayton (OH) Kennel Club show under James Noe and was BW/Best Opposite on Saturday at the Lima (OH) KC show under William Sahloff, owner-handled by Tony Miller. The Saturday major finished Diesel's championship.  Diesel not only finished his championship in 2008, but was placed in the Group before he ever finished. He ended 2008 at #7 behind his dad, Cargo, and with limited showing!

At the same two shows, Diesel's litter sister, Double Ring Tarees Dream Dancer ( aka Zury ) was Winner's Bitch and won back-to-back 5-point majors, Owner/Breeder-handled by Chuck Ringering.

Both are CH. Double Ring Peterbilt (Cargo) progeny!

Congrats to Champion Double Ring Peterbilt ("Cargo")
2008 #6 All Breed & #8 Breed, and Top Producing Sire!

With very limited showing, Cargo continued his winning ways, earning multiple Best of Breed wins and group placement, owner handled, to end the year 2008 as # 6 All Breed and # 8 Breed!

Congrats to Champion Double Ring Tsar Nicholas ("Nicki") for finishing the year 2008 as #9 All-Breed.

See "Niki's" page here

Congrats to CH Rebel Ridge Southern Beauty (Lola) who won BOB under Judge Robert Fetter at the Sandusky (OH) Kennel Club show, and again on Saturday under Judge Sahloff.

"Lola" is a daughter of CH Double Ring Peterbilt, out of CH Double Ring New Southern Glory.

Lola earned FIVE Breeder/Owner handled GROUP placements in 2008 to end the year at # 4 All Breed and # 7 Breed!

Congratulations to the various co-owners and breeders: Tony and Robin Miller, Ashley Resner, and Terry Duchek.

Summer 2008

Double Ring Tarees Dream Machine, aka Diesel, beat his dad for a point the first time he entered the ring. His dad, Cargo, is pretty
proud, even if he did lose.

Ch Double Ring Tsar Nicholas won a Group III in some tough competition during shows at Purina Farms in Gray Summit, MO.

Congrats to our new Champion,
CH Double Ring Centerfold

(aka Bunny)

Bunny is a new CHAMPION by winning TWO five-point majors going Winners Bitch and Best of Winners during the National Kuvasz Specialty weekend. Her half sister, Double Ring Tarees Dream Dancer, (aka Zury) was Reserve Winners Bitch with her junior handler, Ashley Resener.

CONGRATULATIONS to Ashley Resener!

She won Best Junior Handler showing her Kuvasz, Double Ring Tarees Dream Machine (aka "Zury") at the 2008 National Specialty show. see more here

Cezár Harcos v.d. Viersenhoeve won his first major at Missouri shows in May. He was Reserve Winners Dog at the 2008 National Kuvasz Specialty and Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. Cezár came to us from Holland in November. In just a short time he has melted many human hearts. He loves to show and will be a great addition to our breeding
program.

Congrats to new Champion, CH.Double Ring Rebel Ridge Waterford ("aka Crystal")

Thank you to co-breeders and co-owners, Tony & Robin Miller, for helping to find Crystal's last major. Health issues have kept us close to home this season, and their help in completing Crystal's championship is greatly appreciated.

Our bright and shining star, "Crystal," finished her championship under an International Judge, Ms. Edna Gonzalez!

Crystal is a great dog. Her temperament is excellent. She naturally migrates to people who she thinks might "need" her. Her level of
confidence shines in the show ring and outside of it.

Her immediate future will include some more shows as a Champion and next year might  find her in the whelping box with her first litter. Suitable sires will be sized up in the meantime!

see Crystal's page here.

Congrats to new champion, CH Double Ring Tsar Nicholas (aka "Nicki")

Nicki finished his championship in supported competition in Columbus, OH shows by going Winners Dog and Best of Winners. see Nicki's page here

We had not one, but TWO, dogs of our breeding honored as rare GROUP 1 WINNERS nationally for 2005!

Both Ch. Double Ring Phairy Tale (Pixy) & Ch. Double Ring Peterbilt (Cargo) have had extremely successful show careers to-date under expert handling by their owners. see results here

2007 National Specialty

This year’s 2007 National Specialty show was special in a lot of ways...

The trip through the Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mountains was breathtaking. The Holiday Inn in Hampton, VA was a great place to stay. New friends, and old friends, from as far away as California, Washington, Maine and Florida came to the event. The camaraderie was great.

And last, but not least, this year’s judge was retired Kuvasz breeder, Linda Lloyd. The usual specialty judges are AKC All-Breed judges. This was the first time the show has been judged by an experienced Kuvasz breeder who is also a judge.

Dorie Engstrom, also a retired Kuvasz breeder, judged the sweepstakes.

When all was said and done, Double Ring Kuvasz came away with the following wins:

Best In Sweepstakes – Double Ring Centerfold, aka Bunny (see her page here)

Best Veteran In Sweepstakes – Ch Double Ring Moon Shadow, aka Max. Max also won Best of Opposite Sex to the Best of Breed winner on 3 out of 4 days – all from the veteran class. The one day Max was defeated, it was by Ch Double Ring Peterbilt, aka Cargo.

Winners Bitch & Best of Winners – Double Ring Rebel Ridge Waterford, aka Crystal

Reserve Winners Dog – Double Ring Tarees Zodiac, aka Aries. Aries went on to earn Winners Dog for 3 major wins over the weekend.

Award of Merit – Ch Double Ring Peterbilt, aka Cargo  Cargo also took Best Opposite Sex (May 28, 2007) under Judge Barbara Dempsey Alderman, while Cargo's daughter (Ch Rebel Ridge Southern Beauty) took Best of Breed!

Reserve Winners Bitch & Best Puppy – Double Ring Tarees Dream Dancer (aka Zury) Zury is owned and handled by Ashley Resener.

Best Bred By Exhibitor – Double Ring Tarees Zodiac. (see Aires here)

Best Veteran – Ch Double Ring Moonlight Serenade (aka Sera). Sera was handled by 14 year-old Junior Handler, Ashley Resener. Ashley and Sera pulled off a really big win on May 27 under Judge Charlotte Clem McGowan by going Best of Breed. Sera may be a veteran, but she is still quite the show girl.

A special congratulations to Robin & Tony Miller breeders of BISS, Ch Rebel Ridge Southern Beauty, CGC . Lola is the daughter of Ch Double Ring Peterbilt and Ch Double Ring New Southern Glory.

Dante honored with the 2007 ORTHOPEDIC FOUNDATION FOR ANIMALS"CHAMPION OF HEALTH" AWARD!

"The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, along with the Kuvasz Club of America is pleased to present the 2007 Champion of Health Award to Ch Double Ring-Valars Hu Dante, bred by Kathy Ringering & Lorraine Blosser, owned by Chuck & Kathy Ringering.

The OFA Champion of Health is an annual award given through the breed's parent club to a dog that has achieved significant accomplishments in the show ring, in the field, as a producer, or as a working dog, AND that has the appropriate complement of health certifications.

Dante has proven himself in the ring with multiple championships and group placements, however, it is as a producer he is truly making his mark. Several of Dante's get are group winners and placers.

On the health front, Dante has OFA Excellent hips, Normal elbows, patellas and thyroid, and has earned his CHIC number based on health screening in accordance with the recommendations of the KCA. Both his sire and dam had clearances, and he has numerous offspring with clearances including nine with CHIC numbers.

We are pleased to honor Dante with this engraved silver medallion. In addition, the OFA will make a $100 donation to the KCA's Donor Advised Fund at the AKC Canine Health Foundation in his name."

Congratulations to Steve and Attila!

January 2007

The 2006 year-end Kuvaszok Breed & All-Breed Show Results are in (click here) and we're proud of our small kennel.

Though our personal life left little room for the show ring this past year, we're happy to say that Double Ring Kuvasz is the proud Breeder of the #1 TOP WINNING DOG for 2006; All Breed AND Breed winner: CH Double Ring Peterbilt!

CH Double Ring New Southern Glory is also honored as a TOP PRODUCING BITCH for 2006. Her first (and only) litter produced 3 beautiful new champions this past year!

Congratulations to Robin & Tony Miller! "Cargo" and "Glory" have blossomed under their loving care and expert handling.

CONGRATULATIONS to Tony & Robin Miller on all the new champions out of their first Rebel Ridge litter. GO Attila the Barbarian!

Double Ring Barbarian (aka Attila) is an Apollo x Sophie son. He made his ring debut in September. Owner: Steve Oppenheimer. see Attila here.

Another New Double Ring Champion

New champion! Ch Double Ring Mauna Kea Grrreat ("Toni ") sired by Ch Mauna Kea's Limited Release (Shiraz) out of Ch Double Ring Mauna Kea On A Whim (click here)

Toni is a super sweet girl who always has a moment to spend with her admirers. At home she is playful, but much prefers occupying someone's lap!

Crystal, Our Aspiring Therapy Girl!

Double Ring Rebel Ridge Waterford (aka "Crystal") won her first point recently and made the cut in GROUP the first time in the ring! I don't have any new pictures of Crystal but hope to have some up soon. see Crystal here

Crystal's personal mission in life is to be a therapy dog. She will find every wheelchair and drag us over to befriend the people occupying them!

2006 National Specialty, Louisville KY.

Specialty day and weekend all seems a big blur. I chaired the show the day of the Specialty and really didn't get to see as much as I would like. We are waiting for the DVD to arrive.

There were some special moments that will be with us for a lifetime...

Ch Double Ring Cat Dancing WW at 11 years old went to the Specialty as a veteran. She won the Veteran Sweepstakes. She is the dog who was always full of mischief. She is still full of mischief as a senior, just more polished about it! We have always said "Cat" is affected by the "Royal Syndrome." Cat has ideas about how she is to be treated, and doesn't hesitate to make her wishes known!

Everyone wonders how "Cat" got her name. Our granddaughter was 3 years-old and could only say "Cat." It was our "C" litter (the first time). Every time the granddaughter called, "Cat, Cat," this puppy would go running to her. Some how it just stuck and she became Cat Dancing. Cat Dancing danced her way through the specialty and wowed the crowd.

see Cat's new picture here

A friend's 13 year-old daughter expressed an interest in showing a Kuvasz, so we brought Ch Double Ring Moonlight Serenade out of retirement for the weekend. Ashley Resener showed Sera in Juniors and as a Special. They made the cut for the breed win all the way down to the wire most of the days. Ashley did a stunning job showing Sera and won a really nice trophy and prizes. She is looking forward to showing Sera some more and having a Kuvasz puppy of her own in the future.

Double Ring Rebel Ridge Waterford ("Crystal") won her Bred by Exhibitor class.

Double Ring A Matter of Time ("Matty") won her puppy class the one day she was shown.

Other special moments were seeing Tony & Robin Miller finish Ch Double Ring Under Cover ("Spy").

The Miller's girl, Ch Double Ring New Southern Glory ("Glory") won several Awards of Merit.

We get to share the bragging rights on the following because both parents are Double Ring dogs:

Glory's kids out of Ch Double Ring Peterbilt did really well, too with a Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes for Rebel Ridge Southern Sensation, CGC ("Diva").

Rebel Ridge Southern Beauty ("Lola") picked up a 5 point Major.

Johnny Bridges with Rebel Ridge Southern Cross ("Duke") won a Major, too.

It was a great week and we hope to have more new pictures coming soon.

—Kathy OO (Kathy Ringering)

December 2005

Chuck and I went to our kennel club's annual party last night. (Spirit of the Heartland Kennel Club)

They surprised us with a Lifetime Membership Award for service to the club; as founding members of the club; and for service to the community and to individual club members.

We are always available to help new, and old, with training, have held a lot of hands at ringside, have taken middle-of the-night telephone calls for anyone who needed help with whelping a litter; and we've even gone to help with some litters and helped to evaluate puppies, etc.

It was a huge surprise and very heart-warming!

—Kathy OO (Kathy Ringering)

September 2005

Pixy still on a winning roll!

PIXY (Ch. Double Ring Phairy Tale) BRINGS HOME ANOTHER GROUP 4th!

Congratulations to co-owner Sandy Herring for Pixy's latest win on Sept.17th under Judge Harry Smith in Sullivan, MO. (To date, Pixy is #1 in All-Breed points with 1,262 total number of dogs defeated in All-Breed competition.)

click here to go to her page.

Sera Proves she still loves "bling bling" of the show ring!

Sera takes TWO back-to-back GROUP 3s over the weekend!

Sera (Ch. Double Ring Moonlight Serenade) was semi-retired from the show ring in February, 2003. We decided to have a little fun with her and off to dog show we go (Belleville Illinois) on Sept 10th & 11th.

TWO Working Group 3's later, Sera proves she hasn't lost her magic touch and showy figure, after whelping two litters of puppies during her hiatus from the ring. (And it's only been about 5 months since her last litter!)

A great big thank you goes to judges Norman Herbel and Pat Hastings for honoring Sera with Working Group placements.

For Sera's page, click here.
