Bri was always the follower. At one point we didn’t even think she would guard at all, even if the occasion demanded it! Her sister would always guard at the fence, while Bri seemed to assume a leisurely position on the porch.
When Tia was away from home, staying at our son’s house (read’s Tia’s story), suddenly Bri just naturally assumed the fence position and became number one guard dog.
Since then we have watched the dogs over the years. Multiple dogs will work out guarding positions amongst themselves. Some dogs guard the point… while others guard closer to whomever, or whatever, they’re guarding.
