How To View the Newest Version of each Page!
Some browsers display a web page the way it looked the
last time you viewed it (the "cached" version). You will
normally want to be sure that your browser is showing
you the latest newest version of a page instead.
IT IS EASY TO CHANGE SETTINGS to make sure you get the
newest version EVERY time you visit a page.
IN INTERNET EXPLORER
click TOOLS on the top menu bar.
Click INTERNET OPTIONS,
Choose 1st tab on the top row: GENERAL
BROWSING HISTORY click SETTINGS
Under Temporary Internet Files >
Check for newer versions of stored pages>
SELECT the first option "Every time I visit the web
page."
Click OK at the bottom, then OK again to close it out.
You may have to restart your browser and/or computer
before the settings take effect.
QUICK FIX: For most browsers, just hit the F5 key while viewing a page!
This usually loads the newest version!
Prevent Automatic Picture Re-sizing
If you are not able to see the large, detailed,
full-page, high resolution images on this website,
PLEASE reset your browser's default settings to prevent
it from "resizing" pictures smaller without your
permission.
INTERNET EXPLORER
click TOOLS on the top menu bar.
Click INTERNET OPTIONS,
then choose the ADVANCED tab
In the SETTINGS white box: scroll down (about 2/3 of the
way) until you see "MULTIMEDIA"
UNCHECK "Enable automatic image resizing"
UNCHECK "Smart image dithering."
Click the APPLY button at the bottom of the window, then
click OK to close the window.
You may have to restart your browser and/or computer
before the new settings take effect.
FIREFOX Browser
If you use Firefox, the browser automatically re-sizes
large images, which is usually annoying.
To see instructions on how to change your FireFox
browser to display original photo size, there are many
sites to offer step by step instructions. Links are not
provided since they change regularly. Try doing a Google
search for "Stop Firefox Auto Resizing Images"
For more advanced users:
You can disable auto resizing in
Firefox (Version 2 or higher) by
1. Open FireFox browser
2. In the address bar, enter:
about:config
3. Copy and paste the following line
into the filter line…
browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing
4. Double click the preference
once to change the value
from true to false
5. Close Firefox and restart for
changes to apply.

This site has been designed with streamlined,
fast-loading CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and should be
easily viewed in ALL MAJOR MODERN BROWSERS (both Windows
and Mac). This type of web design is also highly
accessible to the text-only voice browsers for the
visually handicapped.
If you are still using Netscape
Navigator 4, PLEASE do yourself a favor and upgrade to a
newer or
different browser ASAP. The older
Netscape browsers are notorious for being bug-ridden and
have difficulty handling the newer stream-lined methods
of web design.
If you are a little bit more adventurous than the average
"surfer," you might want to
try the no-frills OPERA browser or Mozilla Firefox. At
this writing, both browsers
are fast, free to download, and far more secure than either
Microsoft, or Netscape's browsers.
For "newbies" on the web, and for basic beginner help, the
Show Dogs
Supersite has some very useful basic info and links to help you get started
on the web.
